Bahrain’s Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) has announced the launch of its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at an official ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Hidd.
During the ceremony, ASRY Managing Director, Mazen Matar pointed out that the implementation of the Infor ERP system into the company’s procedures has enabled digital integration between all departments and divisions within the company, raising productivity and ensuring best practices are adopted.
This investment has been made as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to improve system efficiency, digitise operations and enhance data security by migrating its IT infrastructure to cloud computing. This is expected to ensure optimum use of resources, greater work flexibility and, ultimately, increases operational efficiency. In addition, ASRY is confident the new system will help to minimise costs, increase revenue and enable effective decision-making, ensuring a continuous improvement in performance levels.
Matar commented: “The implementation of this project is part of the company’s strategy to achieve sustainability and continue to raise the company’s position regionally and globally, by staying on par with current global technology developments. This project represents a turning point in ASRY’s efforts to achieve a more sustainable future ignited by the latest digital cloud system that will facilitate and automate operations.”
