India’s Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has contracted to buy a medium range (MR) product tanker of about 46,197 dwt The 2008-built vessel is expected to join the company’s fleet in the third quarter go the 2024 financial year.
The company’s current fleet stands at 42 vessels, comprising 28 tankers and 14 dry bulk carriers with a combined capacity of 3.33 million dwt. GE Shipping says its current capacity utilisation is close to 100%.
G E Shipping has also contracted to sell its 2006-built, 52,450 dwt Supramax bulk carrier, Jag Rohan. This transaction will also be completed over the next three months.
