Jebel Ali port operator DP World is linking up with leading container vessel operator, A.P. Moller-Maersk, through a long term partnership arrangement. The newly signed deal between the two companies is intended to improve operational efficiencies, enhance customer service and achieve environmental goals in terms of reducing carbon emissions at the UAE hub.
The partnership will support Maersk’s customers through the implementation of a series of new processes designed to improve quayside productivity, leading to faster gate turnaround times at Jebel Ali and reduced bunker fuel consumption. The agreement will also bring into use alongside visibility tools, which will allow Maersk’s customers to benefit from real-time information relayed by DP World to plan their supply chains better and ultimately cut carbon emissions. As part of the long term strategic partnership, Maersk will deploy two of its advanced digital solutions – Maersk Accelerate, a fast-tracking service for priority cargo handling, and Maersk Flex Hub, a cargo storage solution.
