Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC Logistics and Services has taken delivery of the 336m long, 300,000 dwt Arzanah, its third very large crude carrier (VLCC) featuring an environmentally friendly LNG based dual-fuel system. The fourth vessel in this series is due for delivery in the fourth quarter of the year.
Destined initially to trade on the spot market, these vessels are being built by Hanwha Ocean, formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, at the Okpo Shipyard in South Korea.
To meet rising demand, ADNOC L&S has also procured three additional LNG tankers, each having a total capacity of 175,000m3, while two more LNG vessels of a similar size are to be built at the Jiangnan Shipyard in China, with delivery scheduled for 2025.
Meanwhile another ADNOC subsidiary, ADNOC Drilling has taken delivery of a jackup rig, AlSila, Seatrium New Energy in Singapore. AlSila is the second in a series of three jackup rigs and is capable of operating in water depths of over 400 ft, with the ability to drill to depths of up to 30,000 ft.
