The line up of speakers for the ninth annual The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference 2024, which takes place on Thursday November 7th at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, has been finalised.
This year the over-arching theme of the TMS Tanker Conference is Sustainable Tanker Shipping: Accelerating the Journey to Net Zero, which will run throughout the event. The conference will begin with keynote speeches from industry leaders and a high-quality Session 1 panel that will discuss Sustainable Shipping Strategies – Assessing Optimum Solutions.
Prior to the main Session 1 there will be a keynote speech from Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics & Services. He will provide a unique perspective on market conditions for tankers and do some forecasting as to future trends.
Confirmed speakers for Session 1 now include Capt. Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO, Maritime & Shipping Cluster, AD Ports Group; Shahab Al Jassmi, Senior Vice President, Ports and Terminals, Commercial, DP World; Capt. Mohamed Al Ali, Senior Vice President Offshore Logistics, ADNOC Logistics & Services; Capt. Franck J. Kayser, COO, Asyad Shipping Company; Nitin Mathur, Head of Commercial Maritime, Al Seer Marine; Andrew McKeran, CCO, Lloyd’s Register and Peter Sahlen, Head of PureBallast and Managing Director of AlfaWall AB, Alfa Laval Technologies AB.
Session 2, which will be moderated by Ali Shehab, Global Director of Special Projects and Services, DNV, has the theme of Driving Greater Operational Efficiency in Tanker Shipping and will focus on the key issues facing tanker shipowners and operators in terms of day-to-day operations. A new speaker for this session is Maria Kristina Javellana, General Manager – Head of Fleet, Hafnia Middle East, who will discuss how Hafnia is seeking to achieve its environmental and sustainability objectives and optimise performance while meeting core business goals at the same time. Other speakers lined up for this session include Ali Abouda, Group CFO, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC; Capt. Amarjit Kauchhur, Vice President, Middle East/ Regional Director, International Registries (U.K.) Limited – Dubai Branch; Capt. Finally, Session 3, which will be moderated by Tien Tai, Partner, HFW, will assess the theme of Creating Robust Support Systems Infrastructure. Recently added to the panel is Barry Authers, Director of Partnerships, Veracity, at DNV, who will discuss themes around AI and digitalisation.
